11/18/16 The Brilliance
In November, David and Kate Gungor (parents of Evie, Bea and Harry) brought their band, The Brilliance, to our little stage. We were all very moved by these exceptional musicians and their message of peace, love and brotherhood.

And sitting in with The Brilliance was the acclaimed cellist (and uncle of the Gungor children), Joshua Roman, who, just a week earlier performed all six of J.S. Bach’s Suites for Solo Cello on TED’s Facebook Page. I hope you can take some time to watch his extraordinary performance:

Led by saxophinist/composer Bill Humphrey, Mixed Company blends jazz and pop with African American spirituals and other sacred music. What a great sendoff into the holiday season!
1/13/17 Brendan Smith
PS 150 alum (class of 2008) and gifted singer, songwriter and actor, Brendan Smith, performs “Surfer Girl”, “Hey There”, “Turn Away” (his own composition) and “Let it Be”. We look forward to hearing him again soon with his brother, pianist and composer, Damon Smith (class of 2006).
1/27/17 Pawel Knapik and Marilyn Nonken
Bassist Pawel Knapik (father of Sophia and Ewa) and pianist Marilyn Nonken (mother of Billie and Goldie) make history in the music room as they debut the Bass Concerto (1937) of Polish composer Tadeusz Kassern.
